NUAGA Recreational and Competititve Program Descriptions




Open Gym
Our open-to-the public fun time for kids of all ages and abilities! Supervised (but not insturcted) access to all gym apparatus.  A signed waiver must be on hand:  no exceptions.  Appropriate fitness apparel, no jewelry, and loose hair pulled up.  Bare feet required! 
 
We divide the open gym, to allow the younger children some exclusive time in the gym.

      NUAGA Recreational Program

PRE-SCHOOL CLASSES

  • Parent Tot - 2 Years Old with and Adult:
    An exciting movement and spatial awareness class for parents to enjoy with tots.  Help your toddler develop his/her large-motor skills!                                                                                           
  • Mini-Tots (3 Years Old)  A fun movement education approach to learning gymnastics.  Designed to develop motor and perceptual coordination.                                                                              
  • Mighty Kids - (4 and 5 Year Olds):    

Girls Progressive Classes:

  • Beginners -  (Ages 5 and up):             An introduction to basic tumbling techniques and skills on all women's Olympic apparatus and trampoline.                                                                                 
  • Intermediate:  Designed for gymnasts with higher skill level, able to do a backbend on the floor and a pullover on bars.  Additional skills learned:  walkovers and hand springs.                                                                                       
  • Advanced:   A recreational class designed for gymnasts with higher skill levels who want to continue learning but no necessarily compete. Gymnasts interested in competition will be invited from this class.  Option to attend once or twice a week.

Boys Classes: 

  • Boys:  Develop basics skills on men's Olympic apparatus and trampoline.  Designed to enhance strength, flexibility, and coordination.  After warm-up, classes are segregated by level of skill.  Techniques transfer directly to other sports!
NUAGA Competitive Program

Team Two:  For maturing gymnasts who have mastered minimum advanced technique and who display solid work ethic and a can-do attitude.  Director's permission required.  
 
Team One:  Aspiring girls can realize their potential by increasing practice time and learning advanced skills such as saltos, twisting, giants and more.  Participate in competitive season and make friends for life! With Director's permission.
